What you need for artificial planting

A window box is long and shallow, so an arrangement needs something to hold it in place. Two things turn this box into a finished display, and both are sold separately.

1. The foam insert — High-Density Foam Insert for Window Box S, cut to fill the inside of this box completely. Stems push straight into it and stay where you put them, upright and evenly spaced, and hold that spacing when the box is moved or carried.
2. A topping — bark chip or moss, whichever finish you want. It covers the foam once the arrangement is set. Bark chip is bought per box — one 1kg bag for this size. Moss goes further: one 500g pack covers several boxes.

Planting live in this box

You need neither of the parts above. This box can be planted directly — there are markings underneath showing where to drill drainage holes, which is how we'd finish it for outdoors. The complete liners are made round, so none fits a trough this shape.
